Planning the Perfect Romantic Weekend Getaway

Your planning for the perfect romantic honeymoon starts with your planning for your wedding day. Your honeymoon location would depend a lot on the time of your wedding. Many people get married during the June and September, others tie the knot around Christmas, New Year's Day and Valentine's Day. All these are cold weather months. So naturally, a honeymoon would be in a warm climate like a Caribbean honeymoon. However, do note that you would be paying a higher price for a honeymoon during the peak season. You do have other choice besides the Caribbean. You can always go to Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Or you can go to Australia and New Zealand. It is summer there when it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere. If you do not mind the cold, consider going for fun honeymoon in a ski resort in North America.

Once you have chosen a location for a romantic honeymoon, you need to decide whether you want an all-inclusive honeymoon package or an a la carte vacation. If you are planning to visit as many tourist attraction as possible and partake in the on-site activities, it make sense to choose an all-inclusive honeymoon package. On the other hand, if your idea of a romantic honeymoon is a quiet getaway either in your room or somewhere on a secluded beach, then you can save money by choosing an a la carte plan.  The secret to planning a successful romantic honeymoon is to do something that both of you enjoy. So you must involve your partner in the planning.

Avoid planning your honeymoon in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and the eastern seaboard of America between the months of August and October. You may just be caught in a hurricane. Think carefully about travelling to Europe in August. There is a good reason why it is so cheap in August - most European take their holidays then. While it does not mean that Europa is shut down in August, you may just find that many stores and cafes are closed while their owners take a break.

And one more tip. Avoid planning for a romantic honeymoon during the school holidays. That way, you will not need to jostle for space with screaming children everywhere you go.
